Various projects...
Some current, some abandoned, some postponed.

The Case of Sara MarkinsonA point and click adventure game in the horror/mystery genre. Project is in early development phase. I would really like to make point-click games a priority in the future. There's a strong market for them, they're extremely fun to make and the possibilities for story and interactivity is nearly limitless. My long term goal is to develop a VR point-click game. My brain is overflowing with ideas for it! |
TIME WôRPThis was a prototype developed for mobile devices. The concept is fairly straight forward... mix racer style game with puzzle elements. With each passing completion of the obstacle course the speed increases racking up additional points. Threw in a nifty game mechanic where if player slides thumb downward the spaceship slows, making it possible to pull off more difficult or even impossible maneuvers, but if slowed too much the ship burns out. I started to experiment with anaglyph 3D art with this game and I think it's an option worth pursuing for the final version.

Hotel Escape
With 'Hedge Maze Escape' I integrated classic 'Pac-Man' arcade style gameplay with the iconic horror film, 'The Shining'. The combination actually makes perfect sense. Ideally 'The Shining' would be conceived as a first person perspective but unfortunately 3D development is expensive and going in that direction would also severely limit mobile/tablet platforms. For the follow-up, 'Hotel Escape', I am making much larger maps to explore with better graphics and a unique storyline. The game uses story elements similar to the way that the film uses story elements from the book. This creates a fun storyline to play along to while maintaining connection to the source material that fans know and love. As a lifelong fan of the film and book, these games have been especially fun to make!
Pipsy & Meek
This project is inspired by some personal life experiences and a game called Monument Valley, which is probably the most perfect game you can get on a mobile device. The visuals were inspired by another favorite game of mine called 'Limbo'. This game is very much in it's fetal stage of development but the goal is to create n experience that emphasizes art and story while introducing unique puzzles within each chapter of the protagonist's journey. Another key concept to this game involves playing two unique characters together in order to solve challenges, much like the classic game 'A Boy and His Blob'. Music and sound fx are always critical to any game but especially so here.
